Dealing with Three Health Problems: Osteoporosis, ADHD, and OCD
Ellen DeGeneres recently shared details about her health in her new Netflix special, For Your Approval. The show was released on Tuesday and marks Ellen’s return to the public after she stepped away from her talk show due to accusations of creating a bad work environment.
In the special, Ellen talked about being diagnosed with three health problems: osteoporosis, ADHD, and OCD. She joked about how she found out she had osteoporosis after taking what she called a “stupid bone test.” She told the audience, “I have full-on osteoporosis. I don’t even know how I’m still standing. I’m like a sandcastle. I could fall apart in the shower.”
The Challenges of Aging and Osteoporosis
Ellen’s osteoporosis, a condition that makes bones weaker and more likely to break, was something she wasn’t expecting. She shared how she had a lot of pain one day and thought she had torn a ligament. But after getting an MRI, doctors told her it was arthritis, which often comes with age. Ellen asked, “How did I get that?” and the doctor simply replied, “It just happens as you get older.”
This made Ellen realize how tough it can be to talk about getting older while still trying to stay cool.
Struggling with ADHD and OCD
Ellen also opened up about her mental health. After leaving her talk show, she started getting help for her ADHD and OCD. She shared how dealing with these issues hasn’t been easy, but she tries to handle them with her usual humor and honesty.
As Ellen focuses on her health and healing, her story comes at the same time as the ongoing investigation into Diddy’s legal issues. While many people are talking about Diddy, Ellen is concentrating on taking care of herself and dealing with the reality of aging. Despite everything, she continues to share her journey with the humor and charm she’s known for, offering a real and relatable story of facing health struggles.
